Sree Abirami College of Physiotherapy organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program on “Early Diagnosis and Treatment Tools for Children with Neuromotor Disorders” on 6th December 2024, at the college’s Physiotherapy Auditorium. This insightful event provided a valuable platform for advancing clinical understanding and practical skills in addressing neuromotor conditions in children. The program was specifically designed to benefit BPT III year and final year students, as well as faculty members, and saw the enthusiastic participation of students and faculty from RVS College of Physiotherapy.

The event commenced with a prayer song, invoking a calm and focused atmosphere. Dr. S. Guhan, Principal of Sree Abirami College of Physiotherapy, delivered the welcome address, setting a positive and enthusiastic tone for the day. He emphasized the importance of early intervention in pediatric neuromotor disorders and introduced the day’s agenda.

The CME was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including:

  • Dr. M. Sundari, a renowned Physiotherapist and the Resource Person of the session
  • Dr. R. Jayabharathi, Dean of Academics, Sree Abirami Institutions
  • Dr. S. Guhan, Principal of Sree Abirami College of Physiotherapy

Dr. M. Sundari, the chief guest and key resource person, was warmly welcomed with a bouquet and introduced to the audience. In her inaugural address, she shared thoughtful insights into the pressing need for early diagnosis and emphasized the significance of an integrated therapeutic approach in managing neuromotor disorders in children. Her seminar was detailed, evidence-based, and focused on the latest diagnostic tools, treatment techniques, and case studies from her vast clinical experience.

The workshop was structured to provide interactive and engaging learning. Participants were allowed to explore clinical techniques through real-time demonstrations and expert-guided discussions. The session was thoughtfully divided with two short breaks to ensure participants could refresh and remain attentive, followed by a lunch break that encouraged informal networking among students, faculty, and guests.

A highly interactive Q\&A session followed, where students eagerly clarified their doubts and explored deeper insights into the subject. The interaction reflected the high level of interest and commitment from the attendees, reinforcing the relevance of the session to their academic and clinical growth.

As a token of heartfelt appreciation, Dr. Balamurugan, Director of Sree Abirami Institutions, presented a memento to Dr. M. Sundari, acknowledging her exemplary contribution and dedication to enhancing the academic caliber of budding physiotherapists.

The Vote of Thanks was delivered with sincere gratitude to all who made the event a success – the esteemed resource person, dignitaries, organizing team, and participants. The commitment and effort of the organizing committee ensured the smooth execution of the entire session.

Towards the conclusion of the event, certificates of participation were distributed to all attendees, appreciating their involvement and commitment to learning. The event came to a ceremonious close with the National Anthem, evoking a sense of pride and unity among the gathering.

A group photo session was held at the end, capturing the vibrant moments and serving as a memory of a meaningful day of learning and inspiration.
